How to setup WPA-PSK (wireless security) for DI-524?
To setup WPA-PSK, you will need to configure the router and your wireless card. This QIG will be split into two sections for this purpose. We will first configure the router and the card thereafter.
Please note use only hard-wired network connections, to do the setting.
** Disable firewall in your PC to avoid login problem**
Step 1 Connect Your PC (Laptop) to the Router (Port 1,2,3,4 either one of them) using a network cable.
Step 2 Launch IE (Internet explorer). Key in 192.168.0.1 (Default IP address of the router) in the address column and hit enter.
Step 3 Key in your user name and password (User name is Admin with no password by default). Click on OK to log into the router.
Step 4 You will see the D-Link router web page as shown below.
Step 5 Click on the home > wireless > on security choose WPA-PSK
What is a Preshare Key : A Preshare key is the password that WPA-PSK will use for authentication purposes. Both the wireless router and wireless card need to be configured with the same Preshare Key. Minimum characters is 8, maximum characters is 63.
Step 6 After keying in your passphrase / preshare key, click on Apply.
Step 7 You are now done with the WPA-PSK setting on the router.
