D-Link Launches DGS-1008MP
Country, xx 2016 — D-Link, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of networking products, introduces its latest unmanaged gigabit switch, DGS-1008MP today. Supporting Power Over Ethernet (PoE) on all 8 ports, this 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Switch supports IEEE802.3at PoE (up to 30watts per port) and is capable of delivering up to 140W total of PoE power, perfect for 802.11ac devices and multi-featured IP cameras that draw up
IEEE 802.3at Power Over Ethernet (PoE)
Power Over Ethernet (PoE) allows power & data transmission via single UTP cable. It allows the placing of a PoE Powered Device (PD) to be placed far from power outlets without the need for supplemental power cabling. Thus, the installation of PD eg wireless access point, ip cameras and VoIP phone becomes a breeze with less restriction. Being PoE-enabled and compliant to to IEEE 802.3at standard, each of the 8 ports on DGS-1008MP can supply up to 30Watts, with a total PoE budget of 140Watts. These PoE ports will automatically activate when a PD is identified, making it an ideal solution to connect to PDs that are far from power outlets.
Rack-Mountable, Noise-free Operation
The DGS-1008MP comes equipped with two mounting brackets for rack installation. Its quiet operation makes it ideal for installation at any place. The front LED on each port also allows easy port status display. No configuration is required and installation is just plug-and-play!
The DGS-1008MP supports both D-Link Green 3.0 Technology and IEEE802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE). The switch constantly monitors the link status and put the ports into sleeping mode while not in use. It also reduces transmission power usage for shorter distance cable connections. This in turn resulting in overall operating costs reduction without sacrificing operational performance or functionality.
The new Unmanaged Gigabit PoE Switch – DGS-1008MP will be available at all authorized retailers, resellers and distribution partners in XXX 2016.
