D-Link’s New Family of Gigabit High-Powered PoE Smart Switches Designed for IP Surveillance Deployment
Singapore, xx 2016 — D-Link, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of networking products, introduces its latest
Gigabit PoE Smart Switches Family – the DGS-1100MP/MPP Series. This is a range of switches designed to meet the high availability video surveillance requirements of SMB and Enterprise Businesses. Featuring all gigabit uplinks and high PoE power budget, the DGS-1100MP/MPP Series offer an impressive set of features, making it ideal for IP Video Surveillance applications.
IEEE 802.3af PoE, 802.3at PoE+ and 802.3bt PoE
The whole series of DGS-1100MP/MPP family support IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at which allow supporting up to 30 watts per port, power & data transmission via single UTP cable. As such, the installation of PD eg wireless access point, IP cameras and VoIP phone will no longer be restricted by the location of power source. The DGS-1100-10MPP & DGS-1100-26MPP support IEEE 802.3bt, providing up to 75 watts on selected ports. This feature targets at businesses that require the latest high-powered Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) Indoor/Outdoor business ip cameras as these smart switches are able to ensure that all critical surveillance infrastructure can be powered from a single switch at ease.
6KV Surge Protection on All PoE Ports
Faulty electrical cabling, faulty network cabling, and lightning strikes can cause damage to the switch and connected devices. The in-built surge protection of up to 6KV on all PoE ports of the DGS-1100MP/MPP Series helps to prevent damage to the network caused by power surges and lightning strikes, Not only for outdoor device, but sometimes indoor device is also exposed in the threat. Improve the reliability of surveillance network. Reduce the downtime of the critical service and also save the cost of repair. This increases network reliability, reduces repair costs and removes the need for replacement hardware, especially for critical services that require minimum down time. 6KV urge protection for all PoE port, protecting the device from surge or lightning strike.
Intuitive ‘Surveillance’ Interface
Deployment is now easy with options of ‘Standard’ and ‘Surveillance’ Web Interface. By selecting the ‘Surveillance’ mode, the network overview displays the connection between each devices and ports. The ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) device support allows the switch to recognize both D-Link and 3rd party IP cameras and Network Video Recorders (NVRs), making it relatively easy for IP Surveillance installers who are unfamiliar with networking switches setup. The DGS-1100MP/MPP Series provides the status of the connected surveillance devices by health diagnostic. Simple, clear GUI for networking real-time status summaries and cable diagnostics. Status dashboard provide all important statistics help administrator monitor the surveillance network much easier.
Surveillance Traffic Optimization
The DGS-1100MP/MPP Series supports the Auto Surveillance VLAN (ASV) feature. This feature automatically detects surveillance devices and puts them into the Surveillance VLAN, segmenting their traffic from the rest of the network. It ensures security of the data, and also gives the traffic a higher priority, reducing the chances of video freezing or delayed on live streams. A single switch can be used for both surveillance and data networks, removing the need for dedicated surveillance hardware and reducing maintenance costs.D-Link Loopback detection (LBD) help to prevent the network loop and traffic storm happen to secure the surveillance data. Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) function provide a network recovery time down to 50ms, preventing packet loss for important video stream.
